Nail Technician

It's a fact: People want to be pampered. Unfortunately, they don't always have the time or money for a full spa treatment. A manicure and pedicure offer a quick and affordable alternative to a full day at the spa. And pampering isn't the only reason people get their nails done. They know that healthy hands and nails can impact their success. That's where a licensed nail technician comes in.

The responsibilities of a nail technician include consulting with clients about the procedure they want; preparing hands and feet by washing, sanitizing, and removing polish; filing nails and applying primer and polish; applying and maintaining nail extensions and artificial nails; repairing nail problems; decorating nails with nail art; and teaching clients to care for their nails.

Obviously, there's a lot involved in nail technology. That's why nail technology training programs offer a comprehensive education that covers every facet of hand and foot nail care. Courses include anatomy, physiology, chemistry, sanitation, and hygiene. Aspiring nail technicians also learn the specifics of artificial nail enhancements (acrylic overlays, fiberglass, gel nails, and sculptured nail extensions) as well as nail art design and business management.

Once you've completed your training in nail technology, you can become a nail technician, salon owner, airbrush nail artist, or product sales representative.

Enroll in a nail technology program, and prepare to pamper!
